Technical Difficulties

Just in time for our massive show scheduling...the home page is down. Or, at least, the part that tells people about the shows. Our crack IT team is working on it...but in the meantime...here are the details of the next few shows:

Rock Culture Music Festival Battle of the Bands

Show starts at 6pm (Lollards time slot 8:15-8;45pm)
Cover: $5 ahead of time, $7 day of show
Come out and hear 8 bands (of 32 total) compete in the first round of the Battle of the Bands. Grand prize is $1,000 and a show at The Rave. The audience determines the winning band...so you can send The Lollards to the finals!

To get to The Rave Take I-94 EAST to MILWAUKEE. Exit at 35TH STREET. Make a Left onto 35th Street. Follow 35th Street straight to WISCONSIN AVE. Turn RIGHT onto WISCONSIN AVE. Follow Wisconsin Ave to 24th Street. The venue is on your RIGHT. Turn right on 24th Street to enter the main parking lot.
Or take The Badger Bus to downtown and go from there.

Through Rain or Sleet or...

Well...not through a blizzard it turns out. By the time that us Lollards had decided to bail on the Saturday show at The Rave...the promoters had already had the same thought. So...our Battle of the Bands show has been moved to:

Friday, March 2nd, 8pm, The Rave, Milwaukee, WI

Which means that this is going to be a busy, busy week:

Lollards Show: Wednesday, Feb 28th, 11pm, The Klinic, Madison, WI

And, in the spirit of The Kissers sideshow, Michael and Jon have shows with their other bands this week:

Madison Dates

We are confirmed for The Klinic on Wed, Feb 28th at 11pm and for The Local Tavern on Thurs, March 15th at 9pm.

Battle of the Bands at The Rave in Milwaukee is tomorrow (Sat, Feb 24th). We're scheduled to go on around 8:15pm (for 30 minutes), though I doubt that the schedule will be that tight.

Kids in a Candy Shop

The Lollards took a field trip together yesterday to the wonderland that is Ellie's house. The pretense was getting Jon's guitar fixed (which seems to have been successful), but the hours spent there were much more about fetish and fulfillment than instrument repair.

Ellie makes art...and music...and guitars. My god does the woman make guitars...and just about anything else that can be thrown together from wood and strings. We never even made it to the shop, getting caught up in the 30-40 instruments that were laying around the living room.

Figuring prominently in the afternoon's wanking was a red guitar, built for Halloween, that does not seem to have made it's way onto her webpage yet, and, unfortunately, doesn't seem to be featured in the only picture that I have of her from Halloween.

Madison, for all its musical limitations, is a wild and wonderful place full of amazing people doing bizarre and increadible things within the confines of their own four walls.

Here are some long overdue photos from our week of recording "cross the river" at Dar's house in January. If only we could post the smell of smoke, drink, music, and man that permeated the house that week.

Battle of the Bands Update

We're still awaiting our approximate set time, but we'll be playing in round one of the Battle of the Bands at The Rave in Milwaukee on Saturday, Feb 24th. Show starts at 6pm and 8 bands will be playing that night. Come out and vote for us so we can advance to round two and a shot at $1,000 and our own gig at The Rave!
